Imagine that Your Character is Part of a High-School Clique.....

No I believe that Sig would not be very popular in high school because he is all alone and doesn't seem to like a lot of people. He would be in middle of the nerdy and kinda sporty, because he is really active but he is also very smart for his age. Although he could be both very successful in both track and academics. I would believe that Sig would do all of his work and turn it in on time, but I could see him almost be late to school and forget about his homework.

If Sig were to interact with other people I feel it would be a struggle for him. He has always been home schooled so he might not understand some things that the teachers are trying to teach him. But also he wouldn't be able to talk that well because Sig has never really seen anyone else but family and very little close friends. If he would be closer to town he would be able to interact more and understand more.

What would you say to your main character right now

I would say to Sig multiple things like it is ok and hang in there. The reason that I would say it is ok is because both of his parents are dead and his step mom might have ran away. Also because he was alone for a little while with a man beating him up and using him like a puppet to make him stuff. He also is in the house with the corpse of his deceased father. Wolf is also threatening to shoot him and his sister and wants to kill them. I would say hang in there because even though Anna doesn't know what to do they will come up with a way to get out of the situation. Also because though it seems like there is no way out there will come a time to escape. When it all seems dark there is a way out of these situations speaking that Wolf is a human and has to sleep so he has to have a way to get out. Even though Wolf can beat them both up.

blog post number four

You should have went with your sister and mom to go get help. When wolf gets introduced by knocking on the door why would you answer the door. I mean you're out in the wilderness who would be knocking on the door. I do not understand why you did not run after he is holding you captive. I mean having a gun pointed at your head is not the right time to stand up to wolf. It maybe be brave but stupid at the same time. When the author tells you that the dad stole wolf's gold does the dad not think that wolf would find them and could kill his family. Sig could have easily could have knocked out wolf because Sig had the gun. One of my beast thoughts was why did the dad move them out to the middle of nowhere because he thought they could find gold and he even says finding gold is very rare. If the dad could know where the ice would break why did he fall in and why did he have papers with him. Why do I think these things? Because how the athour goes about the story makes sig seem stupid!

what would you say to your main character right now

If I had a chance to talk to Sig I would tell him to be strong and to not give up.  I would say this because Sig is dealing with an internal conflict and there is a stranger in a room with him and the stranger has a gun and is pointing it at Sig.  Sig needs emotional support because he is all alone with no one to help him along with that he knows nothing about what the stranger is asking for.  I think Sig just needs emotional support right now and he just needs more confidence

How Would You Rate Your Character?

Our character Sig is rated on the stronger side of the scale. I say this because he is a great problem solver and knows what he is doing. Though he might be smart he is really struggling with all the things happening at that moment in time. He doesn't know what he should do or anything really, he thinks as he's doing it or even doing before thinking.

Our comparisons are some what close but also can be far apart. Others in my group rate Sig in the about half range area. They thought this because he is really struggling on what to do but also has his accomplishments on what he is doing alone.I think that Sig will move down the scale. Because if he is struggling this early on he is going to make some pretty stupid ideas. These ideas might risk his life or the life of his family members that are still living.  But we can not tell the future so we have to wait for that moment.

blog post 4/ Brylee

I rated my character, Sig, somewhere in the middle. Because he is in his families cabin all by himself with a scary guy and his dead, frozen father. And he is struggling with his thoughts to use his families revolver hidden in the cabin or not. if he uses it he is going to kill the scary guy because the guy is asking/ demanding Sig to tell him where his father keeps the gold but Sig doesn't know the guy or what he is talking about. So I put him in the middle because he's strong for staying in the cabin but he's not strong for having to think for days on what to do, Use the revolver or not.

Most of my group put Sig in the middle, like where I put him. But some of them put him on the strong side. Because he is very strong and brave. But he is also not.

Strong or Weak?

At this point in the book I think on the scale of weakest to strongest he is a seven or eight. I think that because he is in his room with his dead father and there is a stranger in the room with a revolver, but on the flip side he struggles with internal conflict. He is struggling with what to do about the guy in his house and doesn't know if he should go get the revolver or not.
Jayce, Brylee and I all agree that he is a seven or eight rating, because of his current situation he is in. Although he is a little weak now I do think he will get stronger because he has to find courage and strength in order to survive and help his family.

What would you say to you main character right now?

If you had the chance to talk to your main character right now, what would you say to them?

If I had a chance to talk to my main character, I would tell him to always be brave and persevere in everything he does. I would say this because in chapter 27, there was a flashback where he ran away from home and his family couldn't find him, so then Anna was sent outside to find him by her mother. Einar was on his way back from work when he saw Anna searching for him, so Einar and Anna were looking and they saw no sign of him. Anna thought maybe he went back to the cabin and he was. He was in the doorway, not moving because his mother was dead. Einar told Anna to take her brother and go far away and then Einar will meet up with them.
Also, in chapter 28 and 29, I would say stay calm and brave because Wolff was trying to kill Anna and Sig. Sig was already bleeding from him slamming his head, so Anna was trying to stop the bleeding, but he said it was fine. Also, Wolff threatened to shoot them because if they lied to him about where his gold was, he said they would die. This all started because Wolff to forced them to sit down and don't move. Then Sig said there was a brown bag on the ice where his father died. Then, Wolff said that Sig would take him out on the ice, so Sig did, but he had Anna stay. While they were on the ice, Wolff had Sig at gun point, but Sig remembered that if you have a gun in the cold, it can't fire because inside the gun will freeze, so then the gun fire a bullet.
Why would you say it?
I would say that because if someone you love is getting held at gun point, how would you feel. I say he just needs to stay calm and brave because if you aren't calm the person who is putting you in gun point could possibly shoot you or a person who is with them/you. Also, you need to be brave because you can't give up on yourself because if you do then you won't care about anyone. If you are brave, you can believe in yourself, and there is always a possibility of you living.

What would you say about the main character right now?

I would ask Sig what was the most scariest thing you ever came across with wolff. I would  ask this because I want to know what has there been going on with him and wolff. I think that wolff has try to kill Sig and kill his family. I also want to know what was one thing that wolff has said to you too get you to be scared.

My author is Marcus Sedgwick and he is a British story writer and is also a musician sedgwick is now 48 years old.  He is an experienced author and has written books like My sword hand is singing in 2006 and floodlands in 2000 and Revolver in 2009.  I think he wrote this book because he could relate to it and he wanted to tell the story and he might have written it like this to make the reader interested in reading the book and get attached to the main characters.

Revolver Blog Post #2

What are the characters struggling with in the story ? Man vs Himself since he is trying to overcome the way to get over his father's death so he tries to overcome it by trying his best to overcome it dub step is the best i just had to say 's trying to become the bravest and try's to but there's

What events have complicated your conflict further
why does he keep im having his fathers body there's nothing that he can do with it and its going to haunt him because hes going to think that it was his fault that his father had died because  in the begin of the story it talked about that

Do you think that your characters will solve the conflict without causing more harm?
I think that they won't since he is trying to understand how he can but  he cant since he think its going to ruin him but i think it won't since he is the main character .

What Would we Say to our Character Right Now.

Something that I would say to the main character Sig is," To stay strong and have faith, a lot of faith."  I would say this because he is having a very hard time in his life. He is struggling on what to do and he probably should do it quick. He is a very brave kid to be out in Alaska in the cabin all alone with his dead father.

Who is Marcus Sedwick

In the past Marcus has written many books. He was born in 1968 and is a British story writer  He has written Floodlands, My Swordhand Is Singing, and Revolver are the most popular. I think that he wrote this book just to write a book with suspense that makes you want to read more. I say this because in the book there is a lot of suspense throughout with wolf and the gun in the closet.

What Would You Say?

Right now I would tell Sig to go get the revolver. The other guy has a revolver and Sig could seriously get hurt, so find the revolver! I would also tell Sig that he is really good at staying calm, because he is in a room with his dead father and a guy is at the door with the revolver. In that situation I would be freaking out.

If I got to talk to my main character, Sig,  right now I would probably say.......

That he is really brave. Because he is in a cabin all alone with his dead father. I would never be able to stay calm in a situation like that. I would also tell Sig that he should use the revolver because that man is very scary and creepy. That man just came to Sig's family's cabin and demanded gold that Sig has no clue what he's talking about. And the man is not leaving he is staying there so Sig should use the revovlerImage result for the book revolver

I think it's man vs self because Sig is kind of going against how he feels because after his father dies he has been kind of sad the book expresses. The fact they are struggling with the death of Einar, they haven't had a chance to move the body of out of the house and sometimes, Sig will just sit down and just watch his body for hours sometimes. Since Sig's father is dead, Nadya and Anna have been fighting more and Sig's emotion have been very depressing or they have been really deep emotions. He kind of now stays on his own and stays away from all the "drama"

Main Conflict

I think that the two conflicts were man vs himself, and man vs nature. I think man vs himself because he keeps thinking about what happened and nobody is forcing him to think about his dad it is his own thoughts. He also is having flashbacks to better and sadder times like when his mom died. I also think that it is man vs nature because his dad wouldn't have died if it wasn't for the frozen and cold water of the lake that he fell into. And his mom got sick which is part of nature and that is why she died. The events that further complicated the conflict was that his stepmom and sister are gone and a strange man is at the door asking for his dad who is dead

Blog Post #2

They are struggling with the fact that Einar has died and they haven't moved the body out of the house yet and Sig sits and watches it sometimes. Einar being dead has made Sig seems sadder and Nadya and Anna are fighting a lot. Sig is sort of staying away from everyone and staying by himself. I'm not sure if they'll be able to solve this conflict without causing more conflict. I think it's man verses self because Sig is sort of going against how he feels and He is staying away from everyone.

Man vs Man or Man vs Self

I think the main conflict is man vs man because a man shows up at his families cabin when Wolff shows up asking for gold and bulling Sig saying that his father stole his gold and he is wanting it back.  The fact that Wolff is carrying a revolver with him and is threatening Sig with it.  I don't think that Sig will solve the problem without causing harm because Sig has a weapon with him and all he need is a chance to get it and shoot Wolff.  I think its also Man vs Self because he is conatanley thinking to himself after his father and mother died.

Brylee/ Man v.s. Man and Man v.s. Self

I think that this book is man v.s. man and man v.s. Self.

Man v.s. Man :
I think this book is Man v.s. Man because Sig is in his family's cabin , and this big mean guy shows up. This guy is asking Sig wear his father's gold is and Sig has no clue what he's talking about. But the guy thinks Sig's lying. And the guy said where's your father and Sig lied and said he will be back in a minute so the guy said he would just wait. So Sig having to convince the guy that he has no clue what he is talking about.

Man v.s. Self ;
I also think It could be Man v.s. Self because Sig is fighting against his thoughts of using the Revolver hidden in his Family's cabin and not. So he is fighting against his thoughts.

Conflict

Based on what I've read in Revolver so far, I think the main conflict is man vs. man. I think this because the man with the revolver is at the door and trying to get back gold. Sig is trying to find what to do.
The thing is that the conflict could also be man vs. self because Sig is trying to stay calm since his father is dead. Also there is the man at the door, and Sig is struggling to stay calm when he has never seen this man before. And, he is trying to encourage himself to get the gun before the man with the revolver gets his first.

Main Conflict

The main conflict of our story with Sig is Man vs. Man and Man vs Himself. I know this because in the book Sig is left at the cabin all by himself with nobody there with him. But suddenly a man shows up and is trying to look what was inside of the cabin and when he bent over there it was a grip of a revolver. And to add on to that his sisters left him, and he is getting very worried if they are going to ever come back, he almost worries himself too much.

I think Sig will solve these problems. He is a very smart intelligent kid, and is a great problem solver. I kinda feel like when Sig is in the worst of trouble his sister's are somehow going to help save the day. But, with these conflicts, this might bring harm to the rest of his family and maybe some of his families most valuable possessions.

main conflict

man vs man because Sig is trapped by Wolf. The antagonist found that his dad is dead and he is in the cabin. His sister went to go get help. Sig tried to hit him. No because Sig has the revolver. The whole book is based around the revolver. And he can't escape.

Impressions on Our Main Cahracter

Our character Sig, his actions has showed us many things about him and what he is like. He is like any normal teenage kid, but lives in a very small cabin on an lake that is covered in ice! Very lonlry and scared to loose someone else in his family.

All Sig wants everything to be perfect, he wants his whole family together and just everything to back to normal. Sig form a prospective is very scared to lose another one of his family members. We don't know for sure what happened to his mom that made him have a step mom. Or how his father died.

I like Sig because he has faith in everything that he's doing. There may be bumps in the road but Sig can go right through it. He can carry his own weight and I believe a great survivalist.

Revolver Blog Post #1

Sig the main character got involved with something that well forever change his life one day when Sig found his father dead in the cabin the way he died was from freezing to death or also called hypothermia but Sig has a dad step Mom and Sister, i think that Sig cares about other people since he still helps his dad even though he is dead but Sig has very little idea of what to do since he has stolen gold and a loaded gun from his dad's corpse but the fathers name is Einar and sigs favorite thing to do is playing with the snow but i dont think he wont be doing that for a while but I think the story will get more crazy and more entertaining at the same time since they have no clue what to do with his Einar's Body

Discussion Reflection

Where do you think Sig's real mom is?
All; Dead
Brylee: She died because she was very sick. In the book it said Sig had flashbacks about when his mom died.
Jayce: I think Sig's real mom was killed by the same stranger at the door.
Kortney: That's what I think too, but I just think that Sig's father told Sig that she died because she was ill. Sig's father just told him that so Sig wouldn't freak out
Jayce: Yeah, then he is trying to imagine when his mother died.

In conclusion we had disagreements but it was a good discussion.

Sig has despite for the fact that his father is dead. Sig has a habit of being pathetic. I like Sig because he tried to fight with the man that says they stole

What impression of your main character do you have so far?

1. How do their actions tell us about who they are?
Sig's actions are very calm because he is not very loud at all. But since he fell into the water in the pond, he has spoke out and asked for help from his sister Anna, and his actions have become larger.
2. What have we learned about their habits, likes, and dislikes?
He likes the outside because in the book it talks about how he spends time outside thinking thinking and thinking about something, so that's why I think he enjoys the outside.
3. Do you like or dislike your main character? Why?
I like Sig because he kind of reminds me of my older brother Isaac. I think this because Isaac loves to go hunting, learning about the naval things, guns, history, and Sig is someone who might be interested in shooting guns, hunting, and maybe history because he is so quiet.

The revolver Anser Tai

Sigs actions tell us that he is sad, and even though he is panicking inside his head he is staying calm.  Sig is  only 14 years old, but he has a a lot of courage.  He carried his dead father to his home a mile away to his sister and his step-wife, and Sig stays with him alone in the cold looking after him while his sister and step mom look for help.  Before Sig's father, Einar died they picked up and went to Arctic for the slightest chance to get easy gold.  Even though I have only read 45 pages of the book I can tell that Sig is a kind and honest person who has courage and has a good heart.  When Sigs father Einar dies in the ice, instead of leaving his father there to the creatures of the Arctic he carried him to his house even though he is already dead, this shows thats Sig cares for his family.

Sig hates it when his sister and his step-mother argue he thinks of his sister as a sweet loving angel and whenever he sees her like that he gets upset.  Before he died Einar showed Sig his most prized possession a Colt revolver and Sig admires it greatly, unlike his sister Anna she hates it because she thinks its good for nothing but evil.  Sig loves his sister dearly there is enough years apart between them to be  friends.  As I have said before he hates it when anyone in his family argue especially his sister and step mother.  When Sig's mother died he was devastated, but he didn't mind his step mother Nadya.  Sig has a lot of courage and so far of the little I have read it seems he is a good person and he is calm and level headed in dangerous situations.

What I have learned so far is that he is brave and confident. I say this because he is just staying home with his dead dad and he isn't going crazy about his dad being dead he is sad but isn't going crazy. Most people would go crazy if they were left in a cabin with a dead body. I like Sig because he is adventurous and thinks things through. He was thinking about how his dad died on the last few pages and goes through every step that he thinks is how he died. He stays in a log cabin in the middle of the woods with one lantern for light and a fireplace in a room that is twenty four feet by twelve feet. He is strong enough to drag his dead dad all the way from the lake to the cabin and his dad must have weighed more than him which makes it amazing that he could drag him all of the way.

Sig, our main character, has a step mom and a sister. The step mom and sister don't get along very well and Sig doesn't really get involved in all of that. Einar, the dad, died by freezing and he is now sitting in a room in their house thawing out. Sig is kind of the quieter one in his family and doesn't like to talk or interact with people very much. It seems like he's just in his own personal bubble and it's like he really misses his dad. I like my main character because he is like a caring kid and he keeps to himself. One of the flashbacks shows that Sig sees a figure in the lake that's like a black smudge and it turns out to be his dad frozen in the snow with matches scattered around him and his sled next to him. The step mom and sister go to Sig and they take Sig and Einar back to the cabin and leave Einar to thaw out while they just wait for him to finish thawing, but once he thaws, he doesn't come back to life and he is dead.

Brylee blog post #1

The actions of this character in this book tell us that he is sad because his father has died. His actions tell us that he is like depressed because of this. His actions also show that he is kinda scared too. he is scared about being alone.

Sig's habits likes and dislikes show that he liked spending time with his family especially his father. They also show that he doesn't  like his step mom very well.

I like this character. This character is very interesting to me he seems like a normal kid but with an exciting story. I can't wait to read the rest of the book and find out more of his story.

First Impressions

Honestly, I haven't read enough to really know about Sig. All I know is that he has stayed really calm even though his dad is dead. I don't know how he does it. I would have been crying and running to get help. Other than that I really don't know about him.
Even though I don't know much about Sig, I can already tell I like him. Just from reading three chapters he has been courageous through the whole thing because he got his dad back to the cabin even though his dad is probably twice his size. I also like Sig because after reading the back I could tell he can stay calm even in the most unpleasant and uncomfortable situations.

All about us

We are from The lit circle Revolver by: Marcus Sedgwick. We are Brylee, Kortney and Jayce T.

I'm Jayce T. I am a very slow reader and it is very hard for me to get interested into my book. I picked this book because this is the best book that was on the page to pick out of, and it seems interesting to me for me to read this book. I hope this book is good, because I believe that every other book is boring.

Hi I am Brylee, I don't really like reading. I don't read a lot. Unless it is a really good book I will not read the whole book. I am also a slow reader.

Hi, I am Kortney and I love reading! I am most interested in horror books, mainly bu Stephen King. I picked this book because it looked like the best one to read out of all the choices we had. I am super excited to read this book.

by joe

My impression of Sig. I respect him for how brave he is and how he stays calm. Having your dad fall through the ice and die would make most people go insane, but Sig is calm and collected for most of the story. Sig loves to play in the snow even for a 14 year old. Although this may seem weird but he loves wash day and back then it was rare to get a bath. He hates people with no emotion and even made one man in the book angry just to see if there was any emotion. He hated have his dad being gone for long periods of time. Which effects the story later. I like Sig because of his actions and his other traits.
